Participation in “The Future of the Sea” seminar

On May 20th, representatives of Green Balkans participated in a seminar entitled “The Future of the Sea” in Burgas. It was organized by the Via Pontica Foundation as part of the European Maritime Day 2021 in Bulgaria and the project “Innovative techniques and methods for Reduction of Marine Waste in the Coastal Areas of the Black Sea “- BSB552” RedMarLitter “, implemented under the Black Sea Basin Program 2014-2020

We presented the results of a study of pollution of Lake Pomorie with waste, including microplastics, conducted within the project “Eco-Conscious Minds to Stop Pollution in the Valuable Wetlands of the Black Sea Basin”, BSB142, funded by the Operational Program for Transboundary cooperation under the European Neighborhood Instrument “Black Sea Basin 2014-2020” implemented by Green Balkans.

The participants in the seminar had the opportunity to get acquainted with the two models of a common dolphin in real size and color, one of the models shows the global problem of waste pollution – plastic waste, “ghost” nets, unusable fishing hooks and other waste. found along the Black Sea coast.
